Student Chapter Grants available through
the ASM Materials Education Foundation!


Deadline: February 15, 2010

Up to five grants of $800 each are available in 2010!  

Student chapters are encouraged to submit a proposal describing their outreach activities for
funding consideration.

General requirement:
        Project proposed has to be something that moves toward the ASM Foundation’s mission “to
excite young people in materials, science, and engineering careers.”

Proposal must contain:
Description of project or activity
Timeline of activities
Costs associated with project

A successful project must:
Be submitted on or before the deadline
Involve K-12 outreach
Clearly outline objectives
Clearly outline methodology to achieve objectives
Show likelihood of tangible outcome(s)
Show creativity
Have a reasonable chance of success

Proposals must be received by February 15, 2010


A subcommittee of the Action in Education Committee will review the proposals.  
Awards will be made in March.
